Artist Rob Thorpe painted this watercolor illustration of a No. 6 train passing by the hidden original City Hall subway station for Bella Terra's Rail U.S.A. Museums & Trips, Eastern States, Illustrated Map & Guide. City Hall Station in Manhattan was designed to be the showplace of the city's new subway system. Use was discontinued in 1945. Periodic tours are run by the New York Transit Museum. The station may be glimpsed from the number 6 local train. Image available as a quality matted print in two sizes that fit standard frames : 5x7 print (1st photo) is matted to 8x10 inches. 8x10 print (2nd photo) is matted to 11x14 inches. Printed with inkjet pigment inks on heavy opaque paper. Off-white matte; backing board with label. All acid-free. Sealed in a clear acetate sleeve.
